This is just a quick post. Anne and I got out the other evening for quick walk around downtown Port Arthur. I wanted to keep testing out the new (yet old) Canon 1DX II. As I continue to use it more and more, I’m realizing how much of a capable camera it is. Not that that was ever in question. Strangely enough, I find myself shooting vertically a lot more. Which is strange because I do have battery grips for all my other cameras.

I’ve been very lucky to be able to get out and a lot of personal photos the past month. I know the weather is going to turn soon so I’m getting in as many walks as I can. Instead of going to another part of town I stuck in the area this time around, downtown Port Arthur. I have photographed this part of Thunder Bay many times over. I admit, sometimes it’s hard to find the motivation to take photos in this area but I challenged myself to do so.

Last week I decided to wander around good old Fort William. Each time I go there, I always find new spots and different angles. This time around I brought my Nikon D750 and 35mm 1.8. I think it's the perfect walk around lens. It allows me to get in really close but it's also perfect for capturing authentic street photography, that loos natural to the eye.

So it's been a pretty busy and cold winter so far, which means I haven't really had a chance to go outside and do my 'photo walks'. Since I had the day off today, I really wanted to get outside, even just for a little bit, and take some photos. The only problem was, it was about -24 with the windchill. I wasn't going to let that stop me so I bundled up and dressed as warm as I can and set off. My first stop was Boulevard Lake.
