I’m slowly trying to get back into the rhythm of doing my photowalks, safely of course, One of my recent excursions was a spur of the moment one in downtown Port Arthur. Living in a smaller city like Thunder Bay can be challenging for creatives like me because there are only so many places to go that you haven’t been before. Luckily, sometimes it’s as easy as photographing at different times of days, looking at things from different angles or just using a different camera and lens combo.
For this walk, I walked around with the not so small, 70-200. What this allowed me to do was to get some nice compressed shots of downtown along with the marina. I know it’s not the smallest combo, and I usually shoot with small prime lenses, but It was fun to mix it up. Plus, it offered a completely different look.
I also noticed the moon was very cool looking. I’m not one to follow or keep track of types of moons and such, but I later realized it was a flower moon. I was thankful that I got some great shots of it without even realizing it was a special moon.
All in all, just to be able to get out and walk around, plus capture some keepers, felt so good!
