Admittedly, I have been neglecting my Canon RP. I got it as a back up camera to my Canon EOS R which I love. As I use the RP more I realize (which I already knew), it’s a fantastic camera. It’s smaller and lighter than the R and is just about as quick. I still paired it with my favourite lens, the 50mm 1.2. That lens does add quite a bit weight but it’s still a fairly light combo.
The photos from today are from a few different times during the day. I got out first thing in the morning before sunrise. I love doing this because it’s almost like I’m shooting at night but it simply gets brighter than darker. It allows me to get some moody photos, especially with lights and street scenes. It’s amazing what the time of day can do for compositions.
Later in the afternoon I ended up on the other side of town and did a very quick 30 minute walk. The snow was coming down pretty hard so it was a totally different feel than the morning shoot. I loved it! These are also the first set of photos I have posted that use my very own custom presets which I will actually be selling soon. So, for the 5 of you that actually visit this blog, stay tuned for those if you like the way these shots look.
Lastly, shameless plug alert, but I am hosting a workshop in a couple weeks and the sign up is now live. Click on the link below to see what it’s all about. I’m very excited and proud to start offering workshops in Thunder Bay. I have a ton of ideas, so if this first one takes off, I will for sure be doing more of them.
