After selling my Ricoh GRII over a year ago, I instantly regretted it. But I used the money to fund gear I needed, or so I told myself. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, and I decided to purchase the Ricoh GRIII. My ongoing quest to find the perfect everyday camera seems to have come to a conclusion, hopefully for a long time.
I immediately realized how much I missed this camera, which is of course very similar to its predecessor, with some really nice improvements. I’m not going to go into detail in this post, perhaps I’ll save that for another time if I decide to do a review. In any case, I have been shooting non stop with this little powerhouse of a camera and loving every minute of it.
I try to take our (my stepsons’ dog) Bea for a walk every day. One of my favourite spots to go is Jumbo Gardens because I can let her off leash while I take photos along the way. It was a cold morning but, taking photos really takes my mind off the potential distant promise of frostbite. The small form factor, amazing image quality and of course macro capabilities of the Ricoh are pretty much everything I need in a walk around camera. Plus it’s 28mm equivalent lens really forces me to shoot scenes.
As you can see from the photos below, it really is a versatile camera, if you know how it use it. Stay tuned for a lot more posts, especially with this camera, as I try and catch up on past walks.
