It’s actually been a few weeks since I was last at Chippewa Park. The weather wasn’t too cold so I figured it would be a good location to take Bea for a walk. My camera of choice this time around was the amazing Sony A7RIII paired with the Tamron 28-75mm. Honestly, that lens is rarely my first choice but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, which is almost always a prime lens.
It ended up being a good choice as it allowed me to get some unique perspectives that I wouldn’t have been able to do with a prime lens. Plus, it can actually focus pretty closely. I find Chippewa is a great place to walk around because it has a little of everything. The cabins, Lake Superior, beautiful scenery and of course, the closed amusement park. I only walked around a portion of the park, but that in itself took about 40 minutes.
It was enough time to come away with a good range of photos. I think next time I go, I’ll bring my wife and we will once again go on the trails on the the other side of the park. We did it earlier in the season, but it will look completely different now.
