I ended up having to do some video work in Fort William today. Since I had a break in between sessions I decided to sneak in some personal photography. I drove over to the Mission and my first stop was Sandy Beach. Surprisingly, it is one spot that I haven’t really explored. Aside from going swimming there in the summer, I had never actually gone there with photos in mind. I’m glad I did decide to go there though. It was quite beautiful and very peaceful. As usual, I was the only person there. It was like I had the beach to myself.
Once again, I had my Canon 5D Classic with me. I have been addicted to this camera as of late for my personal photography. I know I can get great photos with any camera I own, but I just enjoy using this camera the most. I did miss the flippy screen on my EOS R for some of the lower angle photos but all I did was hold the camera down and shoot without looking. My favourite photo of the day was one of those shots and I used it for the cover image. I has a certain tilt shift effect, and I love it.
The next stop was the old wildlife park. When it was around it was actually quite depressing so it’s probably a good thing it has since shut down. As with Sandy Beach, this was the first time I photographed this area. I of course couldn’t go in because it was locked up, but I did capture some photos of the exterior and some through the fence too.
Lastly, was Chippewa Park. I didn’t spend too much time here as I had to get back but I was happy to get a few keepers here as well.
