It was a somewhat sunny day but I tried to not let that stop me. I’m a cloudy weather type of shooter but I don’t mind photographing with sun once in a while. I think I’m starting to enjoy it more and more actually. My camera of choice again for this walk was the Canon 5D Classic. But wait .. I actually took the 50mm off and replaced it with the 35mm f2. Next to 50mm, 35mm is my second favourite focal length to use. It’s not a super shallow depth of field lens but it still produces great photos.
I knew I would capturing scenes with this combo, more so then my usual close up blurred out background type of photography. As always, I had no route in mind. I weaved in and out of back alleys, checked out the old hospital which is not assisted living and businesses. The building is still pretty old so thats good for me. I even ventured over to the old high school which is in dire need of some love and care but I’m not sure when and if that will ever happen.
In the end, I’m glad it was a bit sunny. I got some of my favourite photos of late due to shadows. it goes to show you, that’s its important to step out of your routine or comfort zone and push yourself. You never know what you might be able to create.
